Refunds and returns
Refurbished & Second-Hand Furniture
All sofas and furniture sold by Sofa Select are refurbished and/or second-hand items. As such, products may show signs of previous use, age, wear, or refurbishment. Every item is individually described and photographed to reflect its condition as accurately as possible.
Customers are strongly encouraged to inspect items in person at our business premises prior to purchase, collection, or delivery.
Inspection on Collection or Delivery
Customers must thoroughly inspect their item at the point of collection or delivery.
By accepting the goods, the customer confirms they are satisfied with the item’s condition, description, and suitability.
No Returns for Change of Mind
Due to the nature of second-hand and refurbished furniture, Sofa Select does not accept returns or offer refunds for:
- Change of mind after purchase
- Incorrect size, access, or measurement issues
- Minor cosmetic wear consistent with age and previous use
- Issues clearly shown in images or stated in the product description
- Customer preference after inspection, collection, or delivery
Once goods have been collected or accepted upon delivery, all sales are considered final unless a statutory right applies.
Faulty or Not as Described Items
This policy does not affect your statutory rights under UK law.
If an item is found to be faulty, unsafe, or not as described, customers must contact us as soon as reasonably possible (preferably within 24 hours of delivery or collection) with supporting photos and details.
Where a claim is valid under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, we may offer:
- Repair
- Replacement (where possible)
- Partial refund
- Full refund
The appropriate remedy will be determined in accordance with UK consumer law.
Online Orders (Distance Selling)
Where an item is purchased online without prior in-person inspection, customers may have cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
We strongly encourage all customers to view items in person before purchasing wherever possible.
If a valid cancellation right applies, the customer may be responsible for return transport costs unless otherwise agreed in writing. Items must be returned in the same condition as supplied.
Delivery
Customers are responsible for ensuring suitable access for delivery.
Sofa Select is not responsible for failed deliveries due to restricted access, incorrect measurements, or customer unavailability. Additional charges may apply for re-delivery.
